Transmission swap
Hi Guys
As some one know, my new old disco 3 have a faulty torque converter, and i found that in it'300k km life made regular LR maintenance, except for autogearbox and transfer case.. the old howner never chance oil
So now no specialist would only change the torque converter and make a gerabox oil service.. all want to make a full rebuild that cost a few € less of the value of the disco (about 3,5k € ).
So, with the help of a friend i decide to buy for 800€ an used transmission from a 150k km junked RRS with broken engine, and made a full swap after a full service.
Now the question..
What type of ecu setting we need to make after the swap of the auto gearbox and transfer case?
I see there is the a special function for the TC swap into my Autel, but nothing similar found for the gearbox.. It's a direct swap no calibration needed?? We don't have an iid tool but only autel maxisis and JL SDD..
Some faq for the swap?
It will be made from a local friend workshop experted in mecathonics repair but not LandRover expert..
Yes i know it will be better to take to a LR expert but it will cost too much, as we exchange labour hours..

No one have changed the autogearbox with a used one??
I have asked to a few specialist and some one tell me i need to reprogram the mecathonics, some one no, other didn't know..
The mecathonics from my old gearbox shuld be ok so i ordered a new seal in case the new one will not work and we need to refit the old one, but if possible i would know it before put the new sump and oil..

I'll check if the JL SDD could also reprogram the ecu..
Or swap the 2 mecathonics..

Bingo,
I found it into my old SDD v130..
It's possible to reprogram current TCM or programming a new TCM, i think the second option.. new TCM in my case..
There is also a "Golden Roule" for the zf 6hp26
maybe if isn't too expensive i'll ask to my friend ad pay him for a passthru online JLR session.. so we use last firmware avaible..
