Windscreen replacement
Just had my second windscreen fitted by Autoglass, the first one fitted back in 2013 was pilkington opticool glass and they refitted the original A pillar trims, this time they fitted SY Solar Tint and fitted new A pillar trims.
My question is, does anybody know who makes SY Solar Tint glass ?
Also my A pillar trims seem to be Matt black rather than satin black and I don't feel to happy with the whole job Autoglass have made, perhaps I am being to fussy.

No you're not being fussy. There are lots of forum members who have insisted on genuine replacement glass, new pillar trim clips and have gone to a lot of trouble to get them. Plenty of stories if you do a search. If I ever need a new screen that's what I would insist on too.
It sounds like you got taken advantage of. If it's an insurance job try talking to the insurance company and Autoglass. Get on to it sooner than later.

Given my recent experience of having a screen replaced (which wasn't done by Autoglass because they were playing difficult in terms of fitting time), I learnt that the insurance companies pay auto glass a fixed price for every screen (suggested around £120) so they win on some and lose on others... any short cuts they can take to bring the screen in cheaper to balance the averages helps... I would complain...

I had my windscreen replaced by Autoglass and I made sure that the windscreen was original Land Rover Windscreen.
I had problem with this windscreen because the heated windscreen takes over 8 minutes to warm up and leaves parts of the windscreen undefrosted. I have been going back and forth with them since December 2015 and firstly they said it was normal then I kicked up a big fuss and then they said take the car to a Land Rover dealer for testing but I said they will charge £140.00 + vat per hour for testing and Autoglass backed out of that like a flash. There was a lot of back and forth, their engineer came over with a heat sensitive paper and placed it on the screen and you could see it was taking over 8 minutes for the windscreen to warm up. I videoed him doing the test and he said the windscreen was faulty. Still Autoglass was not replacing the windscreen so I put the on formal notice and now they are surprise surprise replacing the windscreen.
Oh by the way I paid for the windscreen and not the insurance company.
If you are having a replacement windscreen make sure its original Land Rover

How can you be sure they are replacing with a Land Rover screen? Is it marked, or coded somehow?
I am waiting on Autoglass right now, Benn over two weeks so far.

Hi
Always insist on genuine OEM Landrover kite marked glass, it has a longer warranty and won't null your warranty,

Hello,
Just got my windscreen replaced today, due to a huge crack. Replacement was carried out by autoglass, one of the likes of carglass. They fitted a nordclass screen.
Now there is a large puddle in the passenger footwell... (LHD).
They are having a look at it, and hopefully will be fixing it tomorrow. They used the original trim clips again, not the replacements that came with the new screen, could this cause the problem?
Could one of you maybe post a picture of the original LR screen pic (2008 disco 3 TDV6 HSE) so i could compare specs?
This is what they used for replacement:
They should use new clips, the clips are one use only, discard and replace, don't be surprised to get increased wind noise as the finishers start to lift at speed till they finally take flight.

Exterior Trim and Ornamentation - A-Pillar Moulding LH
Removal and Installation
Removal
• NOTE: This procedure is also applicable for the RH moulding.
1. Open the bonnet.
2. Remove the A-pillar moulding.
Release and discard the 5 clips.
Installation
1. NOTE: The lower clip is unique to the others and must only be installed to the lowest position on the moulding.
To install, reverse the removal procedure. 1. New clips must be used.
The pack of clips supplied from the dealer consisted of,
4 x yellow
1 x White
With the mention above of the Lower Clip is unique and must only be installed to the lowest position, it makes sense for the white one to be at the bottom, the four yellows from the second position upwards. Cannot see that LR would have any other permutation with the five clips in the kit.

had mine go 2 weeks ago, Autoglass were useless kept fobing me off with excuses and blamed insurance company, I contacted insurance company and explained that local dealer has said they have had issues with non genuine screens and electrics and non genuine screen would cause conflict on warranty.
Insurance company were fine and admitted they had heard of this before and were happy for me to arrange a genuine screen from my dealer.
On Tuesday Land Rover dealer called to say my screen had arrived and they arranged for National Windscreens to fit at the dealers while I waited.
I paid the dealer for the screen and fitting and emailed invoice to insurance. Insurance are sending me the full cost minus the £70 excess.
Now got a new genuine screen fitted at dealers under there supervision and any issues regarding fitting or screen go back via dealer. Total cost including the £70 fitting fee was £667 inc vat MY18 RRS Autobiography Fuji White
