FBH - passes operational self-test yet fails to operate
Now here's a thing...
Using my IDTool, I can ask the FBH in my 2005 D3 to self-test. And it does - white exhaust smoke, heat, fan noise, everything. Wonderful.
But it never actually works. Whenever I check the fault log I see the attached image.
"B1D29-93 (2E) No start, even after restart attempt - Component failure - no operation"
I appear to have the Schrödinger's Cat version which can be both operational and yet non-operational at the same time. I have tried the fuse-out reset, but it made no difference. Any suggestions? Pro job? And, if so, Anglian suggestions?
Thanks in advance. As you were, carry on.

No, it's still failing in operation.

Check your fuel pump. I have had something simular on an eberspacher night heater where the unit tested ok but failed to start it turnd out to be a blocked filter in the pump. Enough fuel was getting through to make it smoke but not enough to establish a good flame.

It’s more weird than I thought.
Now we’ve had a few cold mornings, I know that the Webasto is working perfectly. But the diagnostic system permanently reports back the E7 operation failure error. So it’s still the Schrödinger's Cat scenario, but the other way around – it is working but the computer says No.
I might just ignore this issue now...

E7 is in test mode is usually because
a) the engine isn't running or
b) the fan/AC/climate control is on
