Euro 4 to Euro 6

As more places are introducing ULEZs, is there a way of upgrading an MY10 D4 to be Euro 6 compliant?

I’m guessing “No” but would be interested in other’s thoughts.

I think there was a similar thread a while back, while it’s technically possible, financially it’s expensive and there’s an issue that the vehicle model is assigned as euros / 6 compliant when it’s released by the manufacturer so there’s no real method to have an individual cars status changed officially.

surely the firms converting classics to leccy do something similar re. registration.

not saying it won't be a Royal PITA, but it must be do-able.

maybe HWN knows ? seeing as how he officially has a RRS "Tractor" Laughing

Apart from the work and costs involved to do it (if it was at all possible) Tank, wiring, injector, exhaust, ecu etc etc. the hardest bit would probably be getting DVLA to accept that it was euro 6 and not euro 4! There is a retrofit system available for the Transit engined Defender (Euro 5 to Euro 6 ) but that costs £5,500 +VAT! Big Cry

£5.5k + vat vs. ULEZ £10/day

pays for itself in under 2 years.

This, in a nutshell

Cheaper and easier to sell your current D4 and buy an EU6 model
