I have two wheel nuts on my Discovery 3 that I have just rounded off trying to remove them. Has anyone got a good method of removing over tightened wheel nuts?
And then...
Can anyone recommend where to buy (and what size, etc) a decent set of wheel nuts from, I do not need locking nuts and certainly do not want Land Rover branded nuts, any pointers would be much appreciated

They are all rubbish.
The cheap ones off of ebay are just fine, as soon as the socket is slightly tight replace the set of 20 again.
A smaller socket hamemred on should get them off, use an extension so as not to damage the wheel.

Have you tried a six point socket, 22mm? If you peel off the shiny metal cover, the bare nut size is 21mm Chris

hi, my mechanic suggested a 7/8ths deep socket with breaker bar to remove a couple of stuck nuts I had recently! Worked for me... good luck cheers, Steven.

Get some impact driver sockets - strong and flat sided so the rounded corners on your nuts wont cause them a problem Must stop buying shiny toys....

I've had a few issues in the past and recently snapped an extension bar on a siezed nut.
I assume you've cut the cap covers off. Screwdriver or centre punch in the middle domed bit and peel it off. Should be a fairly reasonable stud / head under. I replaced the rear set with LR geniune. I replaced the front set a couple of years back after the tyre guy destroyed them

Yes peel back the stainless nut cover and remove the underlying nut - as you indicated is 1mm smaller.
Never use a rattle gun to tighten, use a wheel brace. Never ever use 12pt sockets - only use 6 point 22mm sockets. If people do this the nuts actually last quite well.
