TDV6 models mess...5s, 7s, S, SE, HSE |
|
8 months ago, when I went to my LR dealer, I wanted to order a new TDV6 SE with 7 seats, alpine roof, and rear locking diff. Finally, he gave me the order invoice, and so I was waiting untill now. Now, here is the problem, and a big suspect....
The order, had the following model written on it: Land Rover Discovery III TDV6 "S. Explorer". My dealer sais this is not the SE, but the TDV6 7 seat model. It doesn't have 18'' wheels, Xenon lights, e.r. mirrors, heated front windows, heated seats, Harman Kardon Audio. Anyway, I suspect that the guys ordered (and paid) for a TDV6 S, or even a simpler type, and tries to sell it to me at a SE price. I don't get it, I am confused. What are the TDV6 versions anyway? What "SE" means if not "S Explorer"? The dealer sais is it the "7 seat version", not the SE. Is this possible? I need some help quite fast, I don't know if I shall cancel my order or take it.

Got to be simply down to price.
If the price on the invoice is the price of an SE get the dealer to explain what is going on.
There is a huge price difference between the 7 seat base version and an SE Zermatt silver 06 reg.
Gone but not forgotten !!!

You should be able to check the local spec of the models on the Greek Land Rover web site http://www.landrover.gr/vehicles/Discovery...d_features
There's no "S. Explorer" model mentioned, maybe the dealer is trying something strange? If you wanted and oedered SE you should be getting that, not something else 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

So there is a 7 seat base version? This doesn't show at the landrover.co.uk site. And what is the difference between those in GBP? Give me a close price example.

The SE in non-UK markets is less well equipped - so try and do an apples-to-apples comparison.
In the UK when you order the car, you get a specification too. Did you get that?
Anyway, thought you were going to buy a Lexus..........

Also, SE generally means "Special Equipment" but it's been a bit diluted by the use of "S" and "HSE" 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

As Martin has said, don't go looking at landrover.co.uk for vehicle specs; they don't apply in Greece.

Specification? No, only for the extras that I ordered (rear diff., alp.roof, 7seats).
Ehhmm...yes, the Lexus, well, after a week of thinking what I need, and the capability of each car, I think the Disco is far beyond Lexus. Not to mention again
