Winch rope UV protection

Hi everyone

Looking for ideas on how to protect the final part of exposed winch rope from UV.
Either a storage sleeve or alternative storage method.

would heat shrink tube work it is available in large diameter sizes

Tubular 1” webbing about a metre long.

Need to unwind the rope and undo terminal holding end of rope onto drum and thread it along length of rope.

Can also be used as rub point protector if need me, best to avoid Rub point if at all possible.

If you struggle to find some give me a shout as I might have some in store room.

Edited to add, just needs a bit of care feeding it through hawser to stop it bunching up as feed last metre back onto drum
