Advice
Hi, looking for a bit of advice, a car hit my discovery 3 by coming out a junction and hitting my passenger rear door leaving a dent, the body shop said it's uneconomical to fix it and insurance is offering to claim £6000, the advice I'm looking for is can I accept the offer and Keep the car as it's still roadworthy?

IMHO £6k for a 2007 base car is a bite hand off up to the shoulder offer, but I may be wrong. It has been known.

You can see if you are able buy it back from the insurance company.
On the following link, scroll down to “If my car is a write-off, can I buy it back?“

Have you got any pictures of the side of your car? If it’s superficial it’s probably cheaper to replace the doors especially now that there are so many being broken... is there any damage behind the doors..I.e the b and c pillars...
Putting it in for repairs in a commercial shop can quickly add up but if it’s superficial and you have the ability to swop the doors over then go for it...
Query what category the insurers are going to place on it...that may have a difference on value especially if you wanted to sell it subsequently... a trader would never touch it ...but if you are going to run it into the ground then it could be a good deal...

Farmer chalk there's no damages to the posts or inside the door, locks are fine, window works, just a dent and minor scratches, hopefully will get a settlement figure and keep the car and run it for a few more years, or to the ground whichever comes 1st, my local garage said it get stamped as cat c,?

Mega result then....
Put the money in the bank for the subsequent servicing costs! Free motoring for a couple of years!

If it's only the outer skin damaged (i.e. no damage that would compromise structural integrity) then getting a secondhand hand door and changing them over is a simple job.
I did mine in a few hours at a slow pace on the drive stopping for tea & pee breaks.
I cannabalised as much as I could from the original door (retaining strap, hinges etc) to keep as "just in case" spares.
When I approached bodyshops to quote - even cash in hand - the prices were frankly taking the urine.I see no ships........
