Restricted performance whilst towing caravan - TSB info reqd

Coming home with the caravan on the motorway with cruise control set at 60 I could feel the car surging slightly. A short time later I get a red triangle and restricted performance warning message on the dashboard. I took the car off cruise and continued for a few miles as I was due to leave the motorway shortly and the car would still go 60 on the flat, dropping to 50 on inclines.
On leaving the motorway I pulled over and restarted the engine but the message came up straight away.
I drove a bit further and then stopped and tried again but same result.
I was about 20 miles from home at this point so just decided to limp home.
After leaving the car for 20 mins or so whilst I put the caravan away I started it up again and this time all was ok.

I checked the codes with my IID and it showed -
P2263-22 (68) Turbo/supercharge boost system performance - General signal failure - signal amplitude>maximum

A check on this fine site suggested it could be due to a fault on the turbo shutoff valve or throttle body and that there are TSBs for these known faults.
Could anyone please send me details of the relevant TSBs

Sounds like the TSOV is sticking, remove the plastic sheild from under the drivers side front and check that the valve servo rod can be moved, you can check the operation of the valve with the engine running by removing a small vac pipe at the front of the engine and listening to the valve to here it open/shut when you block the pipe.

Flack Thumbs Up

Hi Flack
thanks for the reply Bow down

I must confess that I don't really know what I'm looking at but I think I followed your instructions.

On removing the plastic shield I found this -

The linkage could be moved by hand but not much.
I started the car and after a minute or so removed the rubber pipe shown and you could hear quite a loud bang noise as the valve operated.
I take it that's a good sign?

We are away again in a month or so and wonder if I need to get it looked at

Just been back out and tried it again and now think it was sticking a bit as I have given it a good wan*ing using a screwdriver as a lever and it seems quite a bit easier.
Does it need lubricating?
Thanks

Mine moves ok
If I have someone Rev it to 3000 odd revs and it opens then closes
I did find a snapped vacuum pipe on one of the engine mounts just wondering if that could be the cause of it
