Jack Mode
I had a mobile tyre firm come round to change all four tyres on my Discovery 3. He said I had to put the car in Jack mode for him to work on it. What does this mean ?

he wanted you to pull out your trolley jack lift the car on one side in middle of the fram so both wheels are in the air for him to take off the whicle and swap or whatever buahahahahahahahahah cos he could not be fecking bothered

They used to say you had to put the hazard lights on and have it in offroad(?) height, I presume that is what they mean. It doesn't do anything though.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

I had my offside tyres swapped over front to back last week. Was asked to put it into off road height and open the boot while trolley jacks were used front and back simultaneously
Opening the boot I get as the suspension wont go up/down with a door open so is effectively locked at that setting.
I presume putting it into off road height prevents the suspension dropping as its jacked up
once he had removed the trolley jacks the drivers side suspension bags were at extended/super extended mode, which was rectified by operating the ride height manually and letting it settle.

Also heard that ref hazard lights , with the addition of opening the boot
Personally when I had tyres changed I put it into off road height and pulled fuse F26
Noted when the fuse is reinstalled the landy will drop
Did make me laugh ref the jack and Jill comment

Just seen if it’s to be lifted on a post ramp the following
Raising and Supporting the Vehicle
1. Position vehicle on ramp.
2. Position suspension in 'off-road' height. 3. Apply parking brake.
4. Raise ramp to desired height.
My local tyre place understood off-road height but said it made no difference with the jacks they have ... plenty of lift still in reserve when they took the wheels off..

I literally had my tyres changed today, the guy asked me to lock it in access height, and then leave the boot open.
They jacked it up in access height to do it. Pretty sure the handbook says off road height... but either way the tyres were changed.Mike
