Is anyone running 255/65/r18s on their Disco3/4?
I'm searching for tires. I drive mostly on road, on highway, very little off-road. I like the idea of narrower tires to reduce the risk of hydroplaning. And I like the idea of taller/stiffer sidewall, easier ability to rollover obstacles, and filling the wheel gap.
I think 255/65/r18s make a lot of sense, with a high enough load rating.
But I'm also worried that the larger tire (31.1") might stop my truck if I lose air and fall down to the bumpstops... I do have those suspension gremlins so if my suspension loses air while at speed... I don't want my wheels to stop spinning!
I've found these two that might work. (The Toyos are 2/3 the cost of the Michelins!)
Michelin Defender LTX - load rating of 120
Toyo Open Country H/T II - load rating of 120

I was 265/65/18 tyre's next for similar reasons you said. There was a post on here recently asking about the same size I mentioned and that's about the limit. Also spare is a bit of a squeeze, but doable.
