Realised last week that I wasn't getting txt messages back from the Altox anymore. Finally got round to checking why today and seems my GiffGaff SIM has no credit. Not bad given I put a fiver on it over 2 years ago and haven't added credit since.
However, looking at GiffGaff website, am I reading it correctly that credit doesn't continually roll-over anymore ? or is that just for their "goodybag" bundles ?
If it does just keep "ordinary" credit until it runs out, their prices are:
Mobile data 5p per MB
Calls to other UK mobiles, landlines and calls forwarding 15p per minute
Calls to personal numbers starting 070 15p per minute
Texts to other UK mobiles and landlines 5p per text
Voicemail (443) 8p per call
Calls to freephone numbers starting 0800, 0808 Free
Calls, texts and call forwarding to giffgaff numbers Free - IF you add credit or buy a goodybag at least once every 3 months
Just starting to look if these rates are good.
Goodybags (unless I'm wrong) would be £6/month.
As I'm a lazy , has anyone done the research/maths recently to find best way to go ? .
Dean

I'm still on my 1st £10 credit and it must be at least two years, this will be the third.
Just add some more credit?

I'll certainly add some so the tracker works .... might switch in the future.
I'm guessing GiffGaff texted the SIM that credit was zero ... but then the SIM wouldn't have forwarded that because it had no credit to do so. .

Sods Law ... GiffGaff website is dead for adding credit.
update : site came back about 2 hrs ago so I've thrown £10 at it as that's the minimum payment it is setup to take.

Go to Giffgaff - My account - Add credit?
You should have received an email if credit was low/zero

The giffgaff sims I’ve found to be by far the most cost effective.
Ignore the goody bags and head to the top up section right at the bottom. Bodsys Brake Bible

@Admirable ... it was dead https://community.giffgaff.com/d/33048273-...4-dec-2019 , but did come back.
Checked emails ... nothing with Guff or gaff or any combination of the two in recent months. And, sad git that I am, I have every non-junk email I've ever sent or recieved. .

They usually send a text to your Altox sim.
Text num1:+44yourmobilenumber to the Altox sim.
It should then forward you any non command texts it receives. Bodsys Brake Bible

Any further ideas please?
I need a SIM for a new Altox, but wondering whether it's worthwhile fitting it before next winter as I won't, hopefully, need the FBH before then.
