Just wondering
seeing I’ve got a set of the short rails, might be able to utilise them as cross bars , as they have the channel , which would be useful for mounting a bracket to secure the side awning

Don‘t cut the short rails. You can get Bosch or Item Aluminium profiles or the likes.
Alucab has really nice load bars but are rather on the higher side of the cost.

As long as you have standard roof tracks fitted than you could use something like Rhino Rack RCP61.
The standard fittings which comes with Foxwing or Batwing are designed for the Rhino Rack bars. Have used them on Defenders with a Foxwing and they worked well.

If all goes to plan will be picking a Batwing up on Saturday afternoon. Got a very busy weekend but should be able to fit collection in.
Friday straight from work drive from Liverpool to Pocklington for an overnight stay.
Saturday car booked in with JAS Landrover for a service.
Saturday afternoon drive home via 4x4Overlander to pick Batwing up.
Sunday back in work
Looking forward to getting out with the awning though and seeing how I can set it up with my RV4 D4 MY15 SE TECH

Well if you make it late Saturday afternoon will treat you to a drink in our local (and I mean local bar) bar otherwise it will be a case of kettle on.
If you have suitable bars/brackets fitted will help you fit it.

Nice one Brendan
Just fitted a set of Prospeed brackets today. Got soaked but it had to be done
Regardless of time I’m driving so it will be kettle on. I’ll keep you in the loop as to approximate timescales on when we are leaving and what time we should arrive

Our local bar is the Darkland Brewery in Halifax and I will let you work out how close. I make it about 17-18 paces door to door. They do make a decent pint (other drinks are available) . Have a look at their website.

Hey Andy
How do you find the Batwing with the rear hatch open with the added height of the rear ladder?
I am wanting to fit the same to my prospeed rack but I am worried about the ladder hitting the awning once opened above the rear.
