Now am I right in thinking on my 2005 D3 the only pin that goes into the cars wiring is the blue cable into PIN 8, as I have a Thermo Top V??
I'm just double checking as I don't want to blow anything, and I have looked but can't find anything in relation to the early D3, most are later which use all three cables.

Cheers bud, so I'm assuming that this shows its the one pin then.

Even the pics in the Wiki show more than one wire connected, so can only assume its a later D3/D4??

Hi,
As the instructions state, the white/yellow/pink aren't used on the D3, they maintain the CAN bus link which is needed on some D4s.
On a D3, just insert the blue wire into pin 5 of the original plug.
Don't fit the white/yellow and separate them/tape them to make sure they don't touch anything or each other 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Cannot get my test kit to connect to my FBH, have tried every setting, even a different OBD reader, even tried 2 different versions of the WTT software.
I phoned where I got it from, and was talked through all the wiring and it's all good, and even sent a second OBD reader and fuse.
Now can only imagine 2 different outcomes.
1. FBH is fubarred.
2. Laptop is .
It's annoying 😣

Hi, just want to help...
But does your FBH have a problem in the first place? I only read here that you can not get it connected with the webasto workshop software, or the k-line “reader” but does it not work normally in your car at all?
Second question: which k-line reader do you use? Brand, type/model..Best regards

It starts, and after 30 seconds FBH winds down, doesn't fire at all.
So looks like a new FBH then 😣

Well... it can be the glow plug inside the burner, but also the fuel supply, or fuelpump..

If that is the case, I suspect a driver / USB port issue, instead of a FBH electronic issue... for the connection part I meanBest regards

Get a COM port set between 1 and 19, and make sure the same port is selected in Webasto Thermo Test.
The site shop supplied USB adapters use the CH340G chip, use the driver from https://www.disco3.co.uk/wiki/CH340G_Driver06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
