Does this look right?
I've been having issues with my 2009 D3, which won't go into access height ... it gets part of the way there then panics and puts itself into Extended Mode. Which is annoying, mainly because I have to lift the dog into the back all the time!
I was having a look around the wheelarches and this (NSR) doesn't look quite right - should these wires be exposed? Seems a bit iffy to me, but maybe I'm being fussy.

Take a close look as they rub on that steel bracket, can rub rigth though the insulation.
I put some neoprene foam between the wires and bracket to stop the vibes.

Strangely I spotted exactly those on mine at the weekend and thought the same thing about them. I also plan to find some foam to wedge in there to stop them rubbing. The silly design points I keep coming across on this car are unbelievable!

Whilst in there, I would give those nuts a dose of WD40 or similar just in case a removal is required

It sounds like one or more height sensors are faulty. If you have off-road display on the sat Mac screen available, you could watch the height sensors in action, otherwise plug an iid tool in and read the values.
