| Engine system failure - P2288-00 - Long running saga |

Hi all,
Would really appreciate some advice before i sink more money into my 54 d3. I'm having a long running saga with engine system failure, and injector control pressure too high. Today it will give up the warnings if i rev above 2000, go into limp mode and eventually just stall. I can't drive 100m.
* when i bought the car as a non runner, i had this issue. i noted the pipes on the fuel filter were the wrong way round according to the colours, and swapping these resolved the issue.
* a few months ago i had in tank fuel pump fail. I swapped it out for a cheap one, and it ran ok for a couple of months, before i got ESF messages and problems getting the car to run. It would stall loads before running ok.
* a week ago i replaced the in tank pump with a genuine landrover unit, and replaced the fuel filter with a new unit. It ran ok for 2/3 outings of 20 miles or so each.
* today i find myself unable to get 100 meters before ESF, limp mode and stalling.
So is it time for a high pressure fuel pump? Really annoyed with this car now!

I assume it is a manual so I would check out that clutch switch as that is part of the starting circuit
