Swapping tyres from a D4 to a 5

I had a query regarding tyres on the D4 and D5:

I have recently purchased a Discovery 5 (more on that in a post soon). My D4 had winter tyres size: 255/55/R19. The D5 had All Weather tyres size 275/45/R21. Would the winter tyres have fitted on the D5 and the All Season Tyres fitted on the D4? Please note I am including swapping the alloys in this query. It’s simply to know if the size of tyre would have fitted on either vehicle.

Many thanks.

No... Don't think they would have fit. The tires on a D5 are MUCH bigger than on a d3/d4.

Standard D5 tyres have a larger diameter than D4 tyres and D5 wheels have a different offset as well.

They might fit but would be significantly different to the standard fitment for both vehicles.

Would be good to know - what's the difference in wheel offset between the D4 & D5?

Thumbs Up

For 20" wheels, the D4 is ET53 and the D5 is ET47. Other size wheels are probably different.

Thanks Jon Thumbs Up
Means the D5 wheels will sit out a bit more from the body.

Anyone want to trade a set of black (D4) 511s for a set of (D5) 5011s. Wink
