| Transmission vibration - diff locking on? |

Hi guys, have 2006 2.7SE, manual gearbox. Since moving house about five weeks ago, with the weather now wetter and a gravel driveway, when I leave the house onto the road I get a strong vibration from the front of the car, maybe akin to a diff lock sticking on? Very pronounced in 1st and 2nd, not at all in the other gears. Disappears after approx. 5 miles of driving.
I've occasionally had similar symptoms under hard acceleration from low RPM in the 18 months I've had it, always disappears just by lifting off the throttle. Everything else seems fine...any ideas what to check/change first?

Drive shaft or wheel bearing. Could be caliper sticking as well
