Advance factors sell - RAVENOL MDL Multi-Disc locking differentials = Land Rover LR019727, BOT 720, so there are others

[quote="catweasel"]looking for BOT 720 for the rear e diff and dealer wants my kidneys as payment,

You are not wrong, just bought 2 litres @$75.57 per litre[list was $88.91] so total inc GST was $166.25.You could try Royal Purple Max Gear 75w-90 Mod Plus or the Holden dealers who also have a GM product that is up to correct specs.
Have it on good authority from a well respected auto rebuilder/service here in Perth that the ZF lifeguard6 oil is suitable for the transfer box.

Thanks L319,I see it recommends it on their website, so this is a direct replacement for the BOT 720? I have seen other claims by manufacturers in the past with regards to the gearbox oil which have been proven to be wrong. Do you know anyone who has used it?

eddyoz at least your quote was $20 a litre cheaper.

I got a quote yesterday from Britsih Offroad on the Sunshine Coast, QLD for fluids.

Castrol 75W/90 Syntrax for the e.Diff 4 bottles $95.40 AUD.
I think they are intending that this 75W/90 to be also used for the front diff though I though that was a different spec oil?

Transfer case oil 2 bottles $113.70 AUD

cheers
Peter

Peter The Syntrax is suitable for the front diff but in the the rear, if it is an 'E diff', then Castrol Bot 720 should be used LR019727.Quantity is 1.72 litres @$75.57 per litre with GST cost $166.25 for 2 litres

I did challenge them on that and got no reply back.

I got a quote from Pacific landrover on Sunshine coast for a range of fluids for my D3
Castrol Bot 720 LR019727 quoted at $96 / L !!!

Where are you getting a quote from?

Peter,
I appreciate that I'm in the UK and you're in Australia, but I have 2 litres of BOT720 that I bought in error. Don't know whether you're interested in pursuing options. Best regards,

David
