Fitting Underbody Protection |
|
Hi Guys,
How big a job is it to fit some underbody protection?
I have read a bit about the Mantec plate and keen to explore this route.
Couple of questions:
1) Is the Mantec gaurd generally regarded as the best?...if not other recomendations?
2) How easy is it to fit?..my prowess with a set of spanners leaves a lot to be desired...simple job or do i need specialist tools etc.
Cheers Guys

Mantec is a doddle to fit, 4 bolts only.
Useful to have a bottle or trolley jack to hold it up whilst you fasten the bolts. 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

or if you don't have the above to hand , put the D3 into Off Road height ( leave some doors open) slide cross ways ( i.e parrallel to the front wheels) and jam the plate up to the U/S where you want it and hold it in place with your knees, leaving your hands free to fiddle with the four bolts.
Useless bit of info as it may seem , but works when you don't have anything to hand to wedge it up in place.
But then again Im a short and my knees may be the correct height.

New monitor please. This one seems to have partially chewed food all over it. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
