D3 TD V6 Engine swap

Hi,
I'll start by saying how informative and helpful I have found this forum to be and thanks for all the wisdom imparted by yourselves!
I have a D3 TDV6 that has recently sheared off it's cambelt tensioner and wrecked the top end.
I've sourced a RR Sport motor for a reasonable price and hope to replace the duff one with it.
Has anyone done this or similar?
Any tips or hints that might make the job a little easier?
Any thoughts on body on or off?
I'm hoping to get it done at a local mechanics who's also a mate (currently)
Cheers from down under
Steve

well that's a hot topic, why is JLR ignoring this problem, any 2.7v6 up to the end of 2009 will have the old pump and should be changed with the new one asap, most have been done, but there are still a few mechanics that will change the belts but still leave the old pump in there.

oil pump common around 2007 models.

Parts cost is about £160 + seal £10 + bolt

Can get them from citroen dealer (oem) or advanced factors for good prices

I think the early 2005 models had a stronger pump construction, but at a couple of hundred quid to change, you’d be mad not to change anyway.
Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.
Ex D3 and D4
