How to - EPB switch replacement.
My EPB has packed up and according to my iid tool it’s the switch.
There was a piece of pop corn jammed under it, and I think the wife has pushed it down on top of the kernel and it’s broken the switch. The EPB works fine if you push down hard on the switch whilst operating it.
It is logging a fault though and the only way to get the EPB off is to use the drive away function. If you try and release it with the switch it lights up the fault lights and displays EPB Fault.
What needs to come out to change the switch?

On the D3 there’s a plastic rectangle behind it that pops out and covers the screw. I know the switches are the same (chrome aside) but don’t know if it’s harder to get access to the screw on a D4?

All fixed! Got a new switch.
1. Remove cup holder (pull upwards)
2. Reach in and remove plug from switch
3. Carefully prise out the flexible plastic shroud from in front of the EPB lever. If you work an edge free, you can carefully ease it out with a pair of pliers.
4. Remove torx screw holding switch in
5. Push switch forward to slide out. Takes a bit of fiddling.
