I know the subject has been discussed a lot already but I can't decide on which tire to choose for my 19' rims. So if you could just tell me fast what would be your choice between these 4 models which are available in 19':
- Conti Cross Contact ATR
- Pirelli Scorpion ATR
- Goodyear Wrangler AT Adventure
- General Tire Grabber AT3
I want an allrounder which performs well in all areas, looks good, does not increase road noise and does not reduce comfort too much.
Thanks for your advice.
Regards.

Pirelli Scorp ATR. Just fitted a set to my D4, no increase in thirst or noise, no decrease in comfort. Plus they last double the distance of Scorp Zeros. First time for me on 19” but done many, many thousands of kms on them in 18” form, or road and off-road. The only conditions they don’t excel in is deep mud, somewhere I don’t go any more.

Very impressed with the General AT3’s when compared to Scorpion Zero’s and previous a General AT2’s I’ve had fitted. Very happy with choice although not bad off road in anything other than deep snow yet 😉RLD CB Bracket

I had some General AT3's fitted on Friday. Over the weekend I have been impressed, but its still very early days.
They actually seem quieter that the Pirelli Scorpion I had on before, so I am well happy with that.
I have a bit of a muddy hill close to home, and I managed to get about half way up it over the weekend with the new tyres, not that impressive but it was very wet, and its a standing start so no real runup, where as the Pirelli I couldnt even get up the first little incline.2010 Disco 4 HSE

Had my Grabber AT3s on for a while now and think they are pretty good. No increase in road noise and covered a sodden grass field yesterday with ease.Last of the D4 HSE...

Just had my scorpion ATRs fitted, great tyres, the only downside would be in deep mud when some of th3 others would be better, but for good all round performance, long life, good road holding, with no increase in noise or consumption then the6 ar3 hard to beat.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Not a dedicated winter tyre but good in the white stuff. Proper white stuff, not a light dusting or hard frost.

And good for cocking a wheel.

And equally good when stopped for a brew up (coffee, none of that tea malarkey) at the side of the road in the ar$e end of nowhere in Arctic Norway.

GG AT3 is proving itself to be an excellent all rounder for me. Winter rated, which is nice to have, decent on road with no noise issues (unlike the GGAT which gets noisy as it wears), good wet and dry grip, good wear so far, works well off road on tracks like DSL's "cocked wheel" above, and in yuck.
ATR would be the better choice if you do mostly tarmac driving and just want the stony track type use. If you want mud ability thrown in, the AT3 is a good option.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Hi everybody,
Thanks for all your inputs. I finally could not resist the AT3 and ordered them yesterday. Most probably the ATR would have been a good choice as well but I prefer the AT3's look. They remind me of the Duratracs I had on m'y D3 some years ago, in a softer version. A shame they actually reduced the speed rating of the Duratracs otherwise this would have definitely been my first choice
All the best!
