Washed the D3 today. Months of Somerset red mud and Leicester grime removed in an hour. It’s still green underneath. Even did the black plastics to make them black again. The three hundred and thirteen quid road tax hurt this week but it’s otherwise been plodding along. Just passed 190,000 miles.
Has an ever worsening hum which matches road speed which I suspect is a wheel bearing. Not engine revs related happily. Been looking at newer D4s but can’t justify the cost. 28 mpg according to the dash currently. Will do thirty five at a steady speed on its regular 400 mile weekends away. Remapped and so much better than my last D3. Still don’t like the colour though. Maybe I shouldn’t have washed it. Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007

Tonga green was never very popular but I love it although only had silver and black D3’s. Stu

Our last one was a dark metallic grey. Lovely colour. If I get a 4 it will be the same colour or black. Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007
