Air suspension and IID tool
Hi there can anyone tell me (have done a search cans find anywhere) if I can adjust the front suspension independently of the rear suspension as the front is to high by about 15/20mm?

Yes, you can set up suspension height with IID. I'm not going to detail how as although aware, I have not actually done this myself.
Read the IID manual that you should have got with the tool (or download if you haven't) then search this forum. Plenty of old posts out there, but the manual will tell you most of what you need to know.Not such a Disco Newbie now!

Hi thanks for your reply Mikeyb I haven’t bought one yet so don’t have the manual.
Bu what I wanted to know is can the front suspension be adjusted without adjusting the rear?

As I already said, I have not done it so cannot be sure. However from what I have read, you adjust each corner in turn so in theory, yes.
However, I have been playing recently with the test mode function of the IID in relation to suspension - this is where you can raise or lower each corner manually in turn (does not save positions but reverts to normal settings when exit'ed). What I did see from that is when you adjust the height of one corner manually, the opposite corner height position changes - makes sense if you think about it as in test mode the car is not compensating.
I don't think you will properly set up your suspension without doing all four corners.Not such a Disco Newbie now!

You need to follow the calibration procedure. You will also need a tape measure

You will also need the latest firmware for the IID tool. I didn't have this and couldn't work out why everyone was talking about the suspension calibration procedure that looked very different to what was possible on my outdated tool.

you can alter each axle independently, no tape measure needed !
Just go into the suspension page, call the setting you want something and unlock the small symbol that binds the two axles together, adjust front or rear, save and upload....
Do it fairly often when car/camping to try and level the car.....I just change the setting back to default when I drive off ( also have a +20mm all round for extra clearance off road)

If you want to set the suspension up properly, and get it back to how it should be, you need a tape measure. The car doesn’t know the heights. You need to manually measure and adjust each corner to get the correct values.
The IID calibration steps you through the procedure and tells you where to measure and what measured values you need to achieve.
So to set the car up properly, use the suspension calibration, use a tape measure and get the wheel alignment checked after.
If you just eye it up, it won’t be correct.
