Powder coating companies kent
Hi
Hope everyone is keeping well
My front drivers side wheel will be fine for months then all of a sudden will loose pressure , alas had the tyre remounted twice and think it’s time to look for a company that will bead blast the rim and powder coat it for me , sprayed the rim with soapy water to prove it was leaking on the rim
Was wondering if anyone would be so kind to recommend a company near swanley / dartford in kent please
Will get the rim swapped with my spare for now and get the tyre removed to make it easier for bead blasting
Also wished to say a massive thks for the recommendations as I got a T max compressor and what a great bit of kit that is , well worth the money
Tyres only have a few 1,000 miles on them, cooper AT/3 17 inch
Nearly dropped a clanger as I was going to connect it to the battery with the engine running and then noticed it said max 13.8 Vdc
But did have a Daft moment , as I pushed the inflater onto the tyre valve I then relalised it screwed onro the shrieder valve
Many thks as always

Hi Gary
hope your well (as can be!)
wife's Corsa suffers from this all the time, usually on the passenger side, its down to her hugging the nearside and hitting drains and holes.
I've had both of her wheels trued up by a specialist company as had the tyres resealed numerous times to no avail.

Hi graham
Many thks, Alas Still laid up after the emergency back surgery but using the time to plan projects on the D3 around spring time
It’s just this one wheel that’s giving me problems, no kerb marks
At least when I get the tyre removed I can have a proper look, have seen some tyre bead sealer on ebay so don’t know if it’s worth using it and seeing the tyre will only be used as a spare
Will take some pics when the tyre is off
Thks again and hope ur also well

Had loads of stuff done by them for my horsebox build ... good guys good price and very efficient!
If you want the wheels refurbed and refinished with oem type finish then I would definately use Lepsons in Gillingham. By far the best refurbers out there.

Hi farmer
That’s great and thks so much for the recommendation
Have sent off an email to find out costings from them
Fingers crossed will resolve the issue
Also Recently bought the FoBo Bluetooth tyre pressure monitoring system that I can use via my iPad so at least that will be handy, got the screw on type instead of the internal TPMS
Thks again

Think the powdercoaters like cash.... so it’s worth passing by and asking...
Lepsons are brilliant for renewing the oem look for alloys though.. top class job...

Hi
Thks for the heads up will indeed make sure I take cash with me
Hopefully it’s around £50-60 mark to get it all done
Enclosed a pic of the wheel, is not in bad condition but indeed don’t know what it’s like under the tyre
leaks are coming from the inside of the rim
As a side note I also enquired about mobile tyre fitters, many of the quotes to get the tyre changed were well over £100 along with others saying they can’t do 4x4 tyres
Have been using SEtyres in footscray which I’ve always been happy with
Thks again

Hi buddy !
Hope your well !
Funnily enough dropped by a local powder coating specialist today. They quoted £40 a wheel for strip, repair any marks and powder coat. Having my shire fab sliders blasted and etch primed. Will then raptor coat myself. I’ve ordered a upol kit off eblag.
Haven’t forgotten about that promise either mate. Got most of it sorted but trying to get the shed back on the road before the weather turns.
Hope your good mate. (As can be)

Hi mate
Many thks as always , being laid up I’m really bored so indeed spending the time to organise the little projects I wish to do
funny enough the rims are in pretty good nick, its the inside rim bead which I assume has bubbled causing the issues, but alas won’t know till I get the tyre removed
Reason is I looked at this small kit that I could put onto my air compressor , blast the inside of the rim and then treat the inside of the wheel myself with what ever specialist paint is used
This was the one I saw and thought it would also be very handy for future little projects
Can’t work out though if the grit goes in the canister or bag
Just an idea I was toying around with , do enjoy doing little projects like this , but suppose at the end of the day will be better to get it done professionally if it’s only £40-50 quid
Will send the companies emails so can then at least see what the actual costing are
Must admit always wanted one of those blasting cabinets
My friend I can’t even begin to say how grateful and thankful I am for u doing this for me , bless u and indeed priority is getting ur landy back in the road first before anything else
Thks a million and just so grateful
Looking forward to seeing ur landy all done
