seems to be coming from the exhaust box after the cat (been under and checked)
not very impressed so far had the worst purchasing experience ever and I will name and shame tomorrow when ive spoken to the sales manager (thought saxtons where bad ive found somewhere worse very close to them)

Exactly the same happened to me. I solved it with some very gentle realignment of the exhaust hanger brackets. The rattle was very sensitive to position, so this bracket shifting has been a success.
I think that if the rattle comes back I'd be tempted to give the box a firm tap with a nylon faced hammer and/or carry out some less gentle bracket twisting.
Nothing to lose sleep over, although I understand that the rattle can be irritating.D1 300Tdi - gone

thanks for the reply I did get underneath this morning thinking I would find a heat guard bent/broken but no luck although the noise does go if I go to the back of the car and put a little pressure on the tailpipe
I thought it might be loose baffles inside the box as ive had it before with other vehicle and fixed it with a long self tapper screw through the box will see what the supplying dealer manager has to say in the morning as I was ready to take it back today and get my money back never ever been messed about this much before buying this vehicleplease excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

Did you get this resolved, I have similar but think it's down to the idle being to low 710.00 in my case.
I'm wondering if there's a re map for the ECU to raise the idle.Disco 4 2012

Mine was rattling at the centre box. After dropping the exhaust I found the top skin resonating at a certain place when tapped. Carefully placed dent with a 2lb hammer and no more rattle

Just had a full 105k service done including timing belt and changed the rubbers either side of the offending rattle. So far so good Rattle gone. The air filter and fuel filter both looked pretty poor with the indy saying the fuel filter looked V old. Idle is up a couple of hundred RPM and that seems to make all the difference. So whether its the timing coming back in due to the new belt or the filters being cleaner I can't say but something worked. Disco 4 2012

who did the belt change? as my d3 is coming up for a second belt change and as you can imagine im getting a bit twitchy about getting it done
don't want to do it myself as I know how important it is to get it done correctly but can only be sure its been done how I want it done is to d-i-y unless someone knows where i can have it done and watch whilst its being doneplease excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

Get in quick as they are retiring in a couple of months. That's why I had mine done early. They did a full service and oil for diffs & transfer box for me. They did my rear Upper arms last year. and will do gearbox if required.
A world of LR knowledge retiring there with no one to hand it down to. Shame.Disco 4 2012
