What is the smallest rim size, largest tyre aspect ratio in an AT tyre that will fit a D4?

OE LR is 19”.
I have Compomotive 18” rims, with the standard (D3) size of 255/60/18 but you can go upto 265 width tyres. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
2010 D4 HSE (A bit bling)-GONE
2014 D4 HSE (Almost too bling)-GONE
2015 D4 HSE (A heated what?)-GONE
2016 D4 Landmark (Written Off)-GONE

I’ve used 255/60/18 Pirelli Scorpion ATR’s on virtually every type of off road situation other than sand (except parking on beaches). I’ve never had any issues with the tyres or the size.
Psychologically, a deeper side wall would have been nice on some of the rocky Welsh lanes, but in reality it wasn’t necessary. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Brendan - just to be absolutely clear it is ONLY COMPOMOTIVE 18" rims that will fit on a D4 .

Thank you Canburne.
Was looking at several D4s today with view to purchase. The number of wheels which had been 'curbed' and damaged rims were certainly not to my taste.
I am used to 255/85/16 which are 33" diameter with a nice big side wall. Have never liked 'rubber bands' as tyres as do not like the idea of hitting potholes at speed on rubber band tyres.

Brendan- There's also an 18" steel wheel. Although I've never seen them or know of anyone who's fitted them.

Now I am more used to Defenders where we run Hutchinson beadlockers or Zu Rims 16"
Now Zu rims are rated at 1400 kg per rim and are TUV approved, Hutchinson are road legal in Europe, can not readily remember the load rating.
What I can not readily find is the approval off and load rating of both the Compmotive and Tuffant rims. Can anyone assist here?

Tuffants are rated at 1000Kg each

Have had a good look at the Tuffants and they do not appear to be approved for road use in Europe, therefore I will give them a definite miss. Without them being approved I would not risk them on the road and may cause potential insurance problems.
A friend is running on 18" rims with minor caliper work on265/65/18

It does NOT state that they are APPROVED under UNECE regulations.
SAE stands for Society of Automobile Engineers. They are not a regulatory body setting standards.
Complying with DOT regulations does NOT mean they are APPROVED under DOT regulations

You’d need to talk to Barry at Compomotive re: approved use etc. Iirc, they were originally developed for Bowler. My own experience over the past few years is very positive.
