Ran a fault check with GAP BT IID,
Normal scan shows no faults. on about 9 ECU's.
selected "All" fault options,
after taking a while, showed well over 300 faults logged ! on 20 ECU's
quick scan through the list, and it would appear that a lot are minor "comms" issues.??
Downloaded the list to e-mail for perusal later on PC,
noticed that none gave any indication of date / time / mileage so am a bit confused
Can I safely "clear all" as a batch ?
or just don't run a full sweep again for fear of unwarranted worry.?
I tried deleting one, after which the IID immediately ran a full sweep again ?

Most likely they’re old ones. A lot of garages do not clear codes by default. It’s safe to clear all of them. If they’re still active they’ll be back.
Looking through the list will give you some indication in what the vehicle has had in the past.

Thanks kajtsu,
I was assuming that's the reason.
Lots are "signal failure" / "algorithm based signal unrecognised" type thing.
UPDATE...
After scanning through the GAP BT IID instructions (??***)
Page 84/85 basically advises not clearing advanced fault code reads,
as this info may assist in later diagnosis of intermittent faults.
Maybe that's why garages don't clear the cache ??
SO....I will simply not go into advanced system if normal read shows "No Faults"

IMO they don’t clear codes because they’re mostly lazy
Most garages fix the symptom, they rarely treat the disease. Longevity and follow up are not things they’re taught.
I had a Merc once that went 13 times to the shop during one year and only when I threatened the leasing company (it was a company lease) that I’d return it and they could sort it out magic things happened. It was a hate-hate relationship all three years I had the vehicle.
