More advice needed for new tyres for D3
Hi folks,
I've got a 2005 D3 and currently running 255 55 19 General Grabber GT tyres.
Most of my driving is local roads and motorways so nothing off road as such, other than pulling our caravan over grass pitches occasionally Haha.
Wondered if there is a general view these days on a decent all round tyre that's mainly for road use..
Any suggestions welcomed 😊👍🏻.
Thanks all

I have been running GT AT3's for 11 months, and 25k and it's now at the point I need to replace all 4! All 4 have worn really bad on the outside edge, even though the tracking is supposed to be good. I have seen a few AT3's on the forums with the same wear so perhaps its something with the tyres. I emailed GT for advise as well.
As I mostly do motorway miles I am not sure I would put AT3's back on, although I did like it when I got on the muddy stuff occasionally.2010 Disco 4 HSE

If you are wearing the tyres prematurely its a wheel alignment issue, not a fault of the tyre. You should have an even wear pattern across the entire surface of the tyre. Poor alignment or tracking will also lead to reduced handling characteristics. Get a tyre service with a good quality 4 wheel laser alignment system. Hunter is the preferred system for D3/4 yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Unless you are driving on roads with extreme camber, (like me ) There should not be an issue with premature wear. I would suggest you have it checked by another tyre service, perhaps one recommended by the members on here.
I had to make adjustments to take account of my local roads when fitting my last set in Sept/18. So far, all is well with even wear.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Also check if anything is worn in the suspension. No amount of alignment will counteract worn suspension bushes. The tracking place probably won’t spot worn bushes etc.

Going in next week for new lower arms as they have slight play, but the rear is all fine, and these have also worn.2010 Disco 4 HSE

Well, I've gone for the ATR's. Managed to get 4 for £508, fitted and balanced from kwik fit.
Great online price and couldn't get even close to that anywhere else that I could find 👍🏻.. still learning )
