For the American market, they have an extra light on the side of the amber indicator lens, not used here

Put a bulb in, and it will work. It's only a side marker light
Be warned though, only use an LED or a 3W filament bulb, otherwise the lense is likely to overheat and melt My D3 Build Thread

Disco_Mikey , thanks for the idea! That’s a win win situation for me, if it works... I will fulfill my childish desire for the day , and if not I’m going to upgrade the interior lights thank you !

Humm I have a 5W one in my RRS without issue.
I think you are correct about them specifying 3 or 4Watt

Update: the led bulbs fitted great but the light is way to dim I think I can (in the future) open the entire headlight and cut the plastic... I still have a great interior light upgrade to keep me busy until my next trip:) can I just say this was a beautiful experience for me, finding a place to talk about the discovery in such a friendly and warm atmosphere... I’m looking forward to the next post this was my very first time chatting on a forum, and I’m glad to say it left me with a good impression thank you all for your help !

There no need to cut anything, if you warm the lamp unit up in a oven the front glass can be taken off, you can the drill the blanked off bulb holder out with a hotish drill and push the bulb in, warm the unit up again to stick it back together and make it waterproof, you can even take the amber reflector out or part of it for a more modern look 8)
Do a site search and be prepared for a long read. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
