Is this the cup holder that sits below the air vent and you push it in to release it. I fitted one that Nick sent me and from what I remember you just have to pull the whole vent assembly off. Then on the rear you will see 4 x torx screws holding the little tray in. You have to carefully prise off the grey front panel and swap it to the cup holder. Then fit the whole vent unit back, which just clips in place. Finally put the rubber mat back in the cubby hole.

Yank away, it feels like it will snap but I have removed both sides without problem.
Pull the bottom up and it should come out fairly easilyThe End

Okay
So I put a hat over a paper scraper and prised it off - few creaks and moans but off she came.
Fitted the new cup holder system and fitted the face plate - put it all back in and now my problem is that the unit stays on but I can prise it off with the hair on my knuckles now - has gone into its original position but just not soundly
I've lined everything up and heard some clicks at the top when I push it back in but its quite loose at the bottom.
Dont think I broke anything off - there are two male guides at the bottom of the panel that marry to two female plugs but there isnt a catch so they are loose!!!!
Have I broken this or am I missing something - all looks intact!

There should definitely be one (or possibly two I can't remember) metal spring clips that hold it in place (FYC500040). Maybe they fell off (and probably inside the dash) when you pulled it off last night (if you know what I mean).2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

If you can't find them and have to buy some more from LR, make sure you buy a shedload because they're always falling off/breaking/getting lost...2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
