Spare key cutting.

Bought one of these as a spare key as we only have one

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Land-Rover-...2749.l2649

Seems reasonable quality.
Wife took both keys to get new blade cut, chap said old key was very worn and didnt want to use ( I presume as a template) and would need the key code.
Any ideals where I can get the key code?

Thumbs Up

A good key cutter than read the code just by looking at the key.

I can't see modern keys wearing

THere are servies on ebay that will send you a blade from a photo for £12. So they can read the code.

You will find they may not attach to your black fob though without a little modification.

I would just tell the guy to cut the key at your risk. And if it don't work, go down the ebay photo route. or other method

Update. Mrs O took the keys to another key cutter on the same high street, chap cut the key by eye, and only charged a tenner.
Not a perfect fit, but more than good enough as a spare. Will hopefully program this weekend.
Thanks for advice Pete.

Thumbs Up

I've recently bought one via keys in the post having sent them a photo, cost £15 and is a better fit than the original, presumably down to wear. I can honestly say I've never received better service all round with an online purchase. No affiliation to them I hasten to add.

The company name is, as above, Keys in the post, link to the blade that fits a D3 fob:
