Windscreen misting sensor
Hi,
I have been playing with the IID tool today on the 4 and it gives a couple of faults: B13C2 86 and 96 saying the windscreen misting sensor is faulty. I didn't know it had one! It doesn't seem to appear on the CCF either. I don't think this fault came up when I bought the car last November but I have played around with the CCF, enabling remote heat and towing electrics.
Is this a spurious thing or should I see the dealer? (Have the LR approved warranty.)
Geoff.

I have the same and been told by the dealer it is nothing to worry about as they do not see it on their own system
will see when I get my bus back
see if I can clear it or whether it was cleared

Had the same faults here on my MY14:
HVAC-Ventilation
• B13C2-86 (2F) Windshield misting sensor - Bus signal/message failure - signal is invalid
• B13C2-96 (2F) Windshield misting sensor - Component failure - internal failure
A reset did not help, so had the module replaced at the last service.
The error codes have not reappeared since then. Thus looks like the module was foobar.

Also known as the humidity sensor I think D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT
D4 MY13 HSE Lux - RLD/IID BT
P38 RR - Sad parting
110 - Even sadder parting
S3 88" - Still going strong after 23 years of ownership

I have just scanned my MY14 for fault codes and have the exact same as codes:
HVAC-Ventilation
• B13C2-86 (2F) Windshield misting sensor - Bus signal/message failure - signal is invalid
• B13C2-96 (2F) Windshield misting sensor - Component failure - internal failure
This confirms my suspicions that the heated screen isn't working.
Greg, did you ever purchase a replacement humidity module and did this solve your issues too?
I am guessing this is an easy DIY fit behind the little grill next to the steering column?

The sensor contols the airconditioning. My heated front screen worked fine even though the module was defunct. The sensor is located in the small black plastic case sitting next to the rear view mirror.Disco4 V6 SC HSE (MY2014)

As Avalon has said the misting sensor is separate to the heated screen, it is just to the right of the rear view mirror, here are some photos of it.
