Tyres for off road, but quieter
I'm running on 265/60R18 BFG KO2 tyres and on road they are driving me mad. The drone at 60mph is really bad, so I need to change them unfortunately.
I do mainly road, but some green lanes as well, some of which are reasonably challenging. I'm looking at AT3s which I know several of you use. How do you find the on-road noise from them?
Does anyone have an alternative suggestion available in this odd size?

It’s odd the KO2’s are noisy, I have them fitted and find there ask quiet as my road tyres, but are much more comfortable than the road tyres due to the bigger side walls I presume.

In 255/55/19 format they are no worse than a normal road tyre for me. Mine are now down to about 50% worn (about 5-6mm remaining) and aren't really any more noticeable than when new. The Grabber AT, on the other hand, used to get noticeably noisy as it wore.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

I ran bfg ko2’s on my d1 for years. Hardly any noise at all. Have you checked them for uneven wear ?Jarrod

Pirelli ATR's sound like what you need. Quiet and handle exceptionally well on road and good enough off road for what you want.

Isn't the ATR being replaced by the All Terrain Plus?Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Yes Pirelli ATR would be perfect. I guessed that they would be replaced by the All Terrain +, however last time I looked both were on the Pirelli UK website. Although reviews from the US say that the new + is quiet on the highway.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Have gone with Pirelli AT+. Ordered from Tyreleader yesterday at an eye-watering £186 each. Not as eye-watering as today's price on the same site - £197 each! There are two rules for success,
