Spot lights
Hi all. Merry Christmas!
I want to add spotlights to my d3 for some added off road light when lamping.
Any help on where to start with this please? I’ve seen the radiator bracket mod which I quite like. But I’m clueless in terms of wiring and what lights to buy.Landrover discovery 3, 2005, TDV6, manual, 5 seats

How are you planning on having them wired in so they come on with full beam or on a separate switch?

Forget it!- just fit xenons It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

If it’s distance vision you’re seeking, nothing will touch a pair of Lightforce Striker 170 50W HIDs with pencil beam lenses, 1 Lux at 1300 metres, though they come at a price.
For near-in brightness, LEDs are fine.2016 D4 Landmark SDV6 (Euro6), Zanzibar (late run D4)
2009 D4 HSE TDV6, Bali blue (first run D4)
2007 RRS TDV8 HSE, some blue
.
I don’t agree with the above, I sold my LF170Hid spots and went to LED, the bids were a good light but adjustable beam pattern a faff, circular light when I wanted a broad beam.
I went for Lumise Predator X2’s much better in my opinion

I think the first thing is what sort of light do you want. Do you want better (broader) near field light to help the driver navigate around rocks, bales, random stuff or do you want long range focussed light to pick out bunnies in the distance? Are you shooting out the side window, if so maybe a off centre light bias towards the passenger side.
What about left and right lighting. My disco is an HSE and has the lights that come on when you turn, that makes a big difference to what you can see in narrow unlit lanes etc and I wish you could force them on for off roading.Disco 3: Lotus Elise S1: Ferguson T20: Audi A2
