I have been tinkering with an old mobile phone trying to find how to get it to phone me if the alarm sounds on the Discovery for any reason. I have now modified the old Nokia to speed dial me when two wires are closed. All i now need to know is where i can get a trigger on the car from. I did wonder if the connector is still live that plugs into the alarm sounder even if it is disconnected to allow the horns to sound when the alarm is triggered.
I only need a trigger to opperate a relay to close a circuit. 06 Discovery 3 . 72 Triumph Stag.

I would imagine that it would still be live when the horn sounds. Should do the trick. Can you post details of the mod to the phone? Bodsys Brake Bible

Its an old Nokia 3310. I took the case off and then removed the key set including screen. Soldered two wires to the number 1 pad. And then on assembly removed the 1 key and brought the wires through the hole left. Empty the phone book and then enter the phone number you want to ring when the alarm sounds. This will then speed dial number 1 when the two wires are contacted. What I want to do is connect a relay to these wires so a closed circuit will opperate the phone when the relay is charged from a 12v supply. Hope this makes sense. 06 Discovery 3 . 72 Triumph Stag.
