P0652-00 (25) Sensor reference voltage B - circuit low |
|
2005 discovery 3 2.7tdv6
I have this code after replacing the engine.
P0652-00 (25) Sensor reference voltage B - circuit low
The engine runs ok with constant easy start (called start ya b d on the tin here in NZ)!
I dont think there is any fuel coming from injectors (engine stops as soon as easy start has been stopped).
I did replace the trigger wheel and used the special tool to fit. I have fitted these before without any problem.
Any help or advice ?
John

Hi Kevin,
Unfortunately I am recovering from a head injury and cannot work anymore, my memory is very poor.
I think the fault code was probably unrelated to the problem, below is the fault explanation;
Refer to the electrical circuit diagrams and check
the differential actuator sensor position circuit,
repair as necessary. If no circuit problems exist,
renew the differential actuator.
The most likely problem was that the fuel pump was worn, which struggles to pump a high enough pressure to open the injectors.
I think on one of these engines I squirted too much easy start and bent a conrod. I have replaced a few of these engines and they are more often than not difficult to restart after replacement. Usually they go after very repeated turning over with a small amount of easy start, I say small amount because I did bend a conrod once. Over use of east start causes backfires and damages conrods.
On IID or similar check you have engine speed when cranking-about 200rpm. That will confirm the crankshaft and camshaft sensors are working.
You can also check fuel pressure, it will probably only be about 200psi cranking but needs to be in the thousands to open the injectors.
That is how easy start helps as once running the pressure increases enough to open the injectors. Once the injectors have opened the car will restart normally because the pressure will hold for ever or until fuel lines are disconnected.
