insurance renewal time again
I guess we have all been there when renewal drops through the door - wondering what the take will be this year.
Direct Line want 714 for the renewal, up from 566 last year - 148 quid increase (25% roughly) I phoned and said you're having a laugh, my salary hasnt gone up by 25%. Girl on the other end said it was due to the number of claims on my type of vehicle and it was the best price she can do - needless to say I aint renewing with DL.

Give site sponsor A-Plan a call at their Thatcham office. I’ve slways found them to be reasonable but not the cheapest. But if you do have a claim they do all the work for you which I think is worth a little extra.

Actually gone with Admiral on a multicar policy as my youngest is only 19, and over the 3 cars on the drive has saved over 400quid (when using annualised figures), and seeing as its me that pays for all of them is a result (for now)

Renewed with APlan earlier today and whilst I use their Basingstoke office (I was a customer before they were site sponsors), I was once again very happy with the service.
Not least as I complicated my renewal by needing to add another named driver and no longer having a driving licence myself, as I have just had to give it up.Andy

I use A Plan for some insurances and have done for over 25 years. However, they can't come close to NFU for my vehicles. Plus NFU have been excellent to deal with for claims.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I have used NFU in the past on my D2's, but every so often, its seems if they have had a number of claims from within a specific area, they refuse to offer a policy so you end up having to go elsewhere.

Even though we live in Cornwall and can see fields from our house, it still surprises me that NFU do not consider our location rural enough to offer cover.Andy

On moneysaving expert they recently run an article saying best time for cheapest quotes was 21 days before renewal, worth keeping in mind, and percentage change around that time was vastly different than week before renewal(when i got mine!)

Our Thatcham office has the specialist 4x4 cover including off-roading policies if needed
Worth looking on trustpilot to compare reviews for insurers and peoples experiences with them

Why would you need cover to drive off road?
A green lane, such as a BOAT (Byeway open to all traffic) is a public highway and therefore covered under any nortmal car insurance policy and a track across a private land, say, is private land and needs no insurance at all.D3 07 SE - still going strong
