Hi all
Anyone had the Autel IID and had problems?
Mine won’t connect now. Have looked online and seems many have the same issue of it being a dud?
Have cleared the cache and restarted phone Etc
Hoping someone has solved this?
Tia

Yeah Bluetooth on
Device has green light
Phone doesn’t see the device when searching
Could be worth me trying a different phone but my phone can see other devices so presuming it’s the Autel plug or app

Yeah it seems to be since updating the app!
Plugged it in a few days ago and it sent the Landy awol too. Special programs lost. Had to restart the car with it unplugged. May not be related but i think it was.
Been on to the seller for days but they’re full of sh!t - Called Autel today and they said it’s not their direct product or something. Cheap plugins are a ‘grey market ‘
Did give me an email
Will update

Indeed, i have a feeling that the cheap ones we are getting under 50 quid are clones
I was reading on another forum about a way of opening all vehicle's for free, looks like the Chineese have now stopped that little trick, but was a thread from a couple of years ago anyways.
With what you have said about issues connecting, after the software update..... i will not update mine (unless i am forced to ) when next used.
You can make the disco go nuts if you use demo mode.

Ah relief! The seller has a 12 month warranty advertised. Phew. It cost me £79 so I’d be annoyed if I got jacked for a fake one. Even registered with official app for Autel.
The eBay seller is pretty slow to communicate and there’s a lot of forums with problems. But it is a really good device. I hope it does get working.
Got a key fob and blade cut for £30 just need the IID to program it.

You can programme a key with the Autel, its in the service menu under the immobiliser settings I think. Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey
Discovery 3 s 2005 Auto Bonatti Grey Gone
Discovery 3 SE 2005 Manual Zambezi Silver Gone
Range Rover Sport HSE 2006 Black
Aston Martin DB7 VV

............
They are £46 direct off the Autel webb site I was very tempted to get one for wife’s Mini but was in doubt if they would unlock the immobiliser, I could not get an answer from Autel so lashed another £100 out on another make that would give me an answer. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Mine was under 50 quid, off some china site 18 months ago. It works with the official Autel app.
I was not prepared to pay 300 quid plus for the normal disco ones. I have had no issues at all on 3 vehicles with mine so happy.
Autel is a China based company, and China is well know for there clones,it looks to me like the whole Autel range is just a clone of another manufacturers.(and there appears to be clones of the clone lol)
A quick google search will show that most of the others are suing them
Quote:Autel is being sued by all the major car makers, along with Snap on, mom, pop, and apple pie, for stealing software.

I have just ordered a unit from Autel - just waiting for delivery. There was an offer on and it was £41.
I wanted one anyway but when I found out that they program keys and unlock the FBH I was in there.

So weird today it worked! Differently but it worked.
Managed to program a new spare key JUST in time as the other won’t charge
I’ll do a few videos tomorrow. Might set up a lr3 YouTube profile so they can stay on there long term for others.
