Wrangler HPs on this.
We get a surprising amount of snow where I live because of the rapid height change onto the South Downs. A mile away it can be completely clear, but my road looks like this a couple of times a year.
Note the steepness of the hill.
I've been thinking about moving away from the GG ATs I've been using on my D3 HSE for a while now.
They cope very well with the above when the snow is new or compacted, and I regularly tow my neighbours to the top of the road onto the flat as their 2wd cars can't cope in the snow.
The GG ATs also work well on wet slippery slipways when launching and recovering my boat.
BUT - I am sick of them wearing away the edges rapidly despite having the 4 wheel alignment done several times.
So, to the point of this.
I've been offered by a contact at work a set of almost new Wrangler HPs to fit the D3 in 255/55/19 and am wondering if anyone can shed any light on how they'd cope with the above.

Up until March had Wranglers on for 2 winters, must have driven on them in snow but can’t remember any issues at all. Nothing too steep or too deep, and even in snow we normally just take out SWMBO’s Jazz on proper winters.

Had these on my D3 which we used to take to Austria skiing. worked well when new, had 6-8” of fresh snow and managed no problem, not so good at 6mm. Got really noisy when worn, thought I had rear bearing going but turned out to be tyres. Put Scorpion ATR on after As recommended on Here excellent would recommend over Wranglers

I've also got HP Wranglers, no issues but cant remember if I had them before the snow last April
No steep hills in Norfolk anyway so cant really comment on whether they would perfect for what you require.Discovery3 TDV6 GS

The ATRs are great tyres, but out of my price range at the moment and they'd be worth more than my 55plate D3 with 220K miles on it
I think I'm going to try the Wranglers.
I have a lot less need for AT tyres these days, and I'm hoping the more rounded edge profile on the wranglers will give more even wear than the GG ATs, which despite having the 4 wheel alignment done several times over the years are always bald on the front outside edges and rear inside edges whilst the centres still have 5mm of tread left.
I've got through 4 sets of them in the last 6yrs and it's happened on all of them.
A useful way to look at the 'average wear pattern of a particular Tyre is to look at the images of used ones on EBAY, and you'll find nearly all GG ATs show that wear pattern particularly if the advert mentions being used on D3s and D4s.
I'm convinced it's due to their very flat edge section.

At 4mm tread depth Wranglers get very noisy

I had 4 new Wranglers fitted and have done @600 miles on them, obviously no snow yet, but a good mixture of dry, wet, gravel and wet grass to compare them against the GG ATs.
Not seen any mud of any depth yet and have not tried launching the boat on a wet slipway.
Being a far more road based tyre they are slightly quieter than the very worn GG ATs that came off, and I’ve not noticed any difference in grip on gravel and wet grass, which has surprised me considering the unbroken grooves around the tyre in the tread pattern.
but I’m not sure if it’s grip or side wall compliance that is making the D3 feel like a wobbly old bus on both dry and wet roads.
I’m feeling a lot less confident to throw her into a roundabout etc.
I’m using LR suggested pressures, 33 Front, 36 back, and have even jacked each corner up over the weekend to see if when fitted a bush ripped as the suspension sagged, but all looks OK.
What pressure are others using with this tyre?
