New AMK compressor fitted - C1A13 fault |
|
Just fitted a brand new AMK compressor, fitted new relay (that came with it) and flashed the ECU with the AMK software using the IID tool .
I am getting a suspension fault within a few seconds of starting the car.
C1A13-64 Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery
I am praying that one of the genii on this forum knows what the cause is likely to be

No, just the one fault.
Hope it's not faulty, just cost me £93 to courier it from the UK to Australia

make sure you've not trapped any pipes when fitting compressor especially the large one at the top of bracket near chassis

I connected all the air pipes after bolting the compressor in place, so I know they are were all free.
Just a bit of info, in case this helps, after installing the compressor, I plugged in the new relay and replaced the EAS fuse and when I closed the bonnet the car self leveled immediately. I then flashed the ECU with the AMK software before starting the car.
I don't suppose anyone has a flow chart of what the software is doing? It would be useful to know exactly what is going on. Where is the pressure sensor?

Went on a short trip in the car this morning, fault came up straight away. Then not long after, I went out for a half hour drive and the fault didn't come up. When I got back I tried raising and lowering the suspension and it works fine, compressor cuts out about a minute afterwards. Turned the car off then on again, no fault
So I'm cautiously optimistic that my enigmatic Disco has sorted itself out. I must admit it really bugs me that I don't know what is actually going on and there is so much guess work involved with these cars.
I know for a fact that the old compressor was putting out 120psi after I rebuilt it, and I've read somewhere that the system operates at a lower pressure with the AMK software, so perhaps the "gallery" (whatever that is) was already pressurised and it took quite a few starts for the pressure to decrease to a level that was acceptable to the AMK software.

Well that may scuttle my theory.
So what's "the gallery"?
And why does it need to vented when the car starts?

Hi,
I do have the same problem after fitting my new AMK compressor. I get the faultcode about "pressure does not decrease when wenting the gallery" And one about the exhaust.
Did you find out whats wrong?

Hi guys,
Got a bit sidetracked with more pressing issues, but I'm keen to resolve this issue.
After fitting my new AMK compressor last year I regularly get (only) the following faults, and at the same time;
C1A13-64 Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery
U0132-87 Lost communication with ride level control
It is consistently these two faults. No other faults are showing up, and there is a pattern to it.
The faults seem to occur only after an initial short trip, but not after a long trip. So for example I might nip down to the local shop, no more than a mile away, be out of the car for a few minutes, then shortly after I start the car and drive away, I get a suspension fault come up. If I stop the car and turn off the ignition I can lower the suspension immediately. If I then restart the car I can raise the suspension manually to normal height, or drive off and raises automatically, and I can then drive on without any faults. Until the next time....
The compressor seems to be working fine. I can lower and raise the suspension multiple times without any faults. I don't seem to get the faults at all on longer trips.
My gut tells me this is not a real fault.
Is there some sort of system calibration I can carry out with my IID tool?
Marius92 - did you get anywhere with yours? although you were getting an exhaust fault that I have never seen on my car.
Edit/PS. Disco Mikey, thanks for your suggestions, although I hope it's not a faulty (new) compressor. I haven't had a chance to check the wiring integrity, but I am confident I didn't crimp any wiring when I installed the compressor and if it was a wiring issue I don't really see how I would get the symptoms that I have been getting for months now. 2007 Land Rover LR3 4.0L V6

I had a new AMK fitted and had exactly the same faults. It was a faulty new compressor - there are a few about at the moment. It was replaced under warranty and has been fine since. D3 2005

Double check it's actually flashed and showing now as AMK on the IIDTool.
I had a similar experience, thought I had flashed it, but hadn't taken. I know others have said the AMK will run on the hitachi F/W. My experience was it didn't.
Might have been because of the level of code I was previously at.
However, after flashing properly and confirming it was on the AMK code, it was all good
Good luck ! There is no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.

Thanks Staffiedrone. I'm praying mine isn't faulty, because I bought it from a dealership in the UK, then shipped it to Australia and fitted it myself. So getting it replaced is going to be very expensive and possibly difficult. Needless to say I would like to exhaust all other possibilities before going down this route!
Thanks GoBeyond, how do you check which compressor code it is running? 2007 Land Rover LR3 4.0L V6

I couldn't work out how to see what compressor code was installed in the Suspension ECU, so I reflashed it again with the AMK code. However the process seemed to differ from last time I did it, seemed more convoluted, possibly because the engine was running (the IID tool instructed me to turn off the engine before it would proceed).
It's less than 24 hours later, but I have taken 8 trips in the car, 6 of them short trips, and no faults at all so far. Fingers crossed the problem is resolved. Only time will tell 2007 Land Rover LR3 4.0L V6
