Europe Road trip
So some of you know I took the Disco on a summer road trip over the last few weeks.
From the UK through France to Germany, then to Como for a few days and then to Tuscany for a week.
Then back through Switzerland for a night and Germany for a couple of days before the 13hour drive home to get back in time for youngest son to do his Duke of Edinburgh expedition Saturday!
No oil used, no water used, no general problems except for a persistently re occurring P000E-22 (28 ) fuel volume regulator fault. This didn’t limp mode but has occasional momentary drop in available power when starting to accelerate. No biggie, just annoying!
The Xanadoo upper boot basket worked a treat, a great place for the waterproofs and jumpers etc that usually get left all over the back seats. Made it a much tidier trip! Even the wife was impressed!
Finally had some time to fit some stickers back to the car!
Italian PRA
meet up with friends
play silly card games
and still son was not too proud to accept the offer of a pink umbrella from an Italian grandma in a sudden downpour. 😂
Some facts and figures for you as you all love those.
This is in UK speak, Europe speak and US speak, so should cover the wide diversity of members in here!
Distance covered - 3,976 kilometres or 2,285 miles
Fuel used - 421.61 litres diesel or 92.74 uk gallons or 111.38 us gallons
Economy delivered - 9.43L/100km or 24.64 mpg UK or 20.52 mpg US
Total cost of fuel £573.48
Speed generally 120k/75mph on motorways, but also had to press on a bit when heading back to the uk as well as some mountainous roads etc, so overall not too bad.
Disco now cleaned last night, ready for Scout camp duties next weekend and then LRO show weekend after!

Well it depends on a couple of things which are still up for discussion. Mainly size of dog, whether we get one or two (our recently lost dog didn’t travel well at all).
But at the moment if we assume one medium sized dog, I have the XB500 that can be used for fridge or to separate dog from luggage.

That looks a good idea. I might need a smaller crate then. I currently have a large double transk9 crate that fills the boot, I take it out in summer and stick my engel in.
With a smaller crate and that basket I can leave my engel in during winter
Thanks
