U3002-81 Vehicle identification number...

Hello,
Just added a radar module to my car and after the CCF changes were completed I now get multiple faults on the dash related to :

Stability Control Not Available
HDC Not available - System Fault
Suspension Fault Max speed 30mph
Emergency brake assist not available

And loads of faults mainly relating to "U3002-81 Vehicle Identification number = bus signal/message failure - invalid serial data received"

Censored I thought, so reversed the changes to exactly as they were before I started (took screen shots) and removed the module by unplugging it. However they are all still there - they won't clear and nor will the dash warnings.

Any ideas how to fix this or what is causing it? I *hope* it might be that the FW just needs updating on the radar module but how can this effect it if I took it all out and mess up the VIN/bus comms?

How did you reverse the changes, did you manually change them or use the backup&restore setting.?

Manually.
They were in the Untested CCF that is required for the ACC retrofit. I saved them as "Favourites" so I could find them quickly. Good job - maybe..

The ECU was recognised with an IID Tool Config - Find ECUs Friday as I sent this info to Pat for the new firmware. The VIN of the radar ECU was showing as donor vehicle and all the others were mine. I have swapped and added used HW that required CCF changes but this is a new unwanted result Sad

I guess I could do a "Menu--IIDTool Config--Find ECUs" to see what the VINs come back with or disconnect the battery(?) - but I have a feeling you are going to say reload from the day one...

Did a restore config. All better now. Odd issue but saved by the restore Wink

Thats why I asked you how you restored, I have found that if you manually change things in the CCF, other things get changed that are not seen, always best to use the backup/restore.

Yes. I kinda wanted to wait before doing it in case I made it worse.

With regard to the restore, the other option is save - not pressed it, but does this overwrite the "day one" or give you some option to save it as something like say more than one personal setting live favourites?

To be honest I am done with CCF for today. Transmitted the new ACC setting and it all froze with loads of errors on the dash so waited a painful 5 mins (eternity) for it to time-out then IGN off, disconnect tool, reconnected and tried again.
    Few, all ok thankfully!

    Cheers.
