Tyre's set for light load |
|
Hi Guys
When I go to start the D4 there is a message on the dash that reads along the lines of "tyre pressure set for light loads" even though I have just had new tyre's fitted and have them set at 33psi front and 37psi at the rear - how do I alter the message or get rid of it please?
Cheers. "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" -is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" ------------is how far you take the fence with you.

Don’t think you can get rid of it.
Press the start button once, go to the service menu and you can change it from light load to heavy load. D4 MY15 (64) SE Tech, Loire Blue

VEHICLE LOADING
When the vehicle is delivered, tyre pressures will be set to those displayed on the tyre pressures label. See TYRE PRESSURES. If the tyres are inflated to the light load (comfort) or for the heavier load setting, then the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) has to be adjusted to suit the vehicle's load and associated recommended tyre pressures.
The light load (comfort) setting improves ride comfort, providing the weight restriction for passengers and luggage is not exceeded. See TYRE PRESSURES.
TPMS levels can be set via the Tyre pressure check and Tyre pressure monitor options in the instrument panel menu. L633 Defender

Just been out and your correct, you can set it for light or heavy but that's the only 2 options so left it as light as that's what the tyre's are set at now
Many thanks chaps "UNDERSTEER" ---is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

The adjustment is done same as checking the oil pressure only the next one up in the menu from oil pressure and can only be done when the engine is cold and has been stood for awhile, best time is before you start the engine in a morning, it can be changed from light to heavy load, but has a tendency to revert back to light for some reason after a few days/weeks.
When changed from L To H or when wheels have been changed or reading the spare has been enabled/disabled it takes around 5 miles driving to read the changes and set itself.
p.s. this is all from memory. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I thought it was just mine that keeps reverting back to Light Load and only after a few hours, phew, at least the quirks are the same as everyone else’s
