Missing my D3
Got rid of my D3 recently and now regretting what I replaced it with.
Looking to go back to Disco 4. Would you go as late as poss or were some model years better than others? Not that bothered if its a little older, as in 2012 if they were good. Sure there are a few low mileage ones out there now the 5 is out...

2012 saw the arrival of a slightly more powerful engine and an 8 speed box (and a small jump in price).
Beyond that the general rule of thumb "buy on condition and history" applies.
I am after a 2012/13 HSE myself. Hoping to view one this weekend actually...D3 07 SE - still going strong
D3 07 HSE - gone to car heaven
FL1 - gone to Romania
D3 05 HSE - gone to a divorce diet
D1 V8 manual - gone but not forgotten
RR Classic - gone to car heaven
Jeeps, Lexus, X-trails... Too many to name..

If you intend to keep the D4 for a long time, I’d go for a late model with the EU6 engine. With the demonisation of diesel, I’d not want to spend much money on a diesel vehicle that wasn’t EU6.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Does AdBlue cause any issues on these?

Some 65 plate D4's were EU6. To be certain, just open the fuel filler flap and you'll see the DEF filler cap or not as the case maybe.
Doesn't seem to be any issues as yet with the EU6 (Adblue) engines.
I've owned two and they were both noticeably more powerful than previous D4 engines. The listed performance figures are identical, but I suspect the "mapping" is the reason. They go like 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Mines a 15plate with adblu (MY16), registered July 15, so one of the first. No issues at all.
