fbh : where is the connector?

ok ... thanks to Beanie and Martin I'm all set to go regarding the Altox controller installation.

However, when I open the panel where the scissor jack goes there's no obvious wiring to connect to. Not even the "wrong" connector that DSL found.

I've had my arm in as far as it will go (can even touch the underside of the panel where rear audio bits can be fitted) ... but i'm Censored if I can find a loose connector anywhere.

bit loathe to dismantle the inside of the boot if I can avoid it but ...

anyone able to give me a clue ?

cheers,

Dean.

Sad found it ... Wrapped in foam and not for pulling to somewhere sensible.

and it's piddling it down now so grabbing a coffee until it eases off a bit.

This is the lead you need from the shop

Then locate this plug in the drivers rear quarter

Plug this end into the loom

And the the other into the Altox 👍

did it via https://www.personalgpstrackers.co.uk/gps-...s-trackers ... offers £5 free credit on top of any credit I add.

if it doesn't work out ... i'll just get another SIM.

was thinking about extending the adapter cable so I could relocate the receiver but not sure it's worthwhile now.

I don't seem to have as much cable to play with as Beanie pics show.

I think earlier D4s have the Telestart unit connector in an annoying place, they moved it in a later model year so it's a bit easier. Is the loom from me long enough?

Yes Martin ... Loom is good but with the connector it mates with being so far away from the jack access panel , it was a case of attaching by feel rather than being able to see what to do.

Once connected, there is enough cable to fit the unit in a number of places ... Or just let it hang as I've done so far on basis I WILL get round to adding the temperature sensor and manual on/off switch.

If anyone is after a giffgaff sim PM me ... I've a promo-one that arrived a day or two back. If registered before end October, you get an extra £10 credit and I get £5 too. Win-win.

Thumbs Up

I've set-up the SIM and placed the sim into the ALTOX, didn't see any flashing LED though, ignition was on

I've then sent a text to the SIM with APN1, APN2, APN3 etc but no reply or flashing LED

I know I can be a bit thick at times, but what am I doing wrong?

Thumbs Up
