My disco 3 seems to started pulling away really slow it seems that the engine takes an age 2 odd seconds before it kicks in never noticed it this bad before
Sitting still and rev it in park very responsive driving it a lot of delay there always been a delay like most just seems a lot now and dangerous

Sure it's not an issue with the gearbox or the brakes binding on?

Recon box and torque convertor 2000 miles ago
And no breaks not binding
How could the box do it

Yes couldn’t see any splits
Just seems to of got really bad latterly
If I’m
Idle in park it revs fine but not when pulling away from being stationary
Even when I use command shift the pick up seems slower than it used to be

Inside the gearbox are clutches and brake bands which either engage gear sets or lock a gear set to the casing. If one of them is dragging, it can cause a delay as it's trying to hold the car back.

Well it was a recon box from zf so don’t see it being that and it’s not that it’s breaking it’s just seems to take ages to start revving to get going

I can reproduce it if I’m
Rolling on a hill really slowly in neutral and rev
It there
Is a big delay as soon as I’m
Stopped rolling the delay has gone when revving it

Have you checked the setting of the brake pedal switch? The switch might be sticking on which is causing the delay in launching. Get someone to check the brake lights when you apply and lift off. Any delay in the lights going out is going to show the switch needs replacing or resetting.

Mine is a manual so it doesn’t affect me. But before I changed the brake switch it was holding the brake lights on for at least a second after taking my foot off the pedal.

Easiest way to check is position your car so you can see the brake lights reflecting on a window or at night against a wall and watch the reaction times when you take your foot off. With the best will having a second person telling you on/off gives a false timing.

Thing is even if there was a
Delay that wouldn’t make it do it even if I’m sitting waiting for a few minutes it still does it

Don’t know if this is correct but live data is showing boost pressure
Acuator at 85% when idling and when I rev it takes a
Bit to go down

Hi

Have u checked ur actuator arm isn’t sticking and ur MAP sensor is nice and clean , no signs of the intercooler hoses split/ leaking traces of oil

Inc the live data readings for ur Map sensor

What happens whilst on a motoway and safe to do so u floor it, will it go into limp mode

Just a thought Thumbs Up
