Passenger side door lock, the emergency one how do I remove?
Ign barrel worn out so got new lock set, ign barrel done easy peasy.
Now passenger side door lock, Ive had the car off the windo up the window down the regulator in several different places but I just cnat get to the back of the handle assy
I could not work out how to get the glass off the regulator and as Im heavy handed at the best of times Ive put the door back together.
So my questions are
1, has anyone else done this?
2, how did you gain access to get the lock retaining clip off as theres also an armoured shield over the rear of the lock?
3, ifs its security sensitive can someone pm me the how to if one exists?
Thank you

the glass has some white plastic tongues bonded onto the glass and these locate iinto similar but female type versions on the lift rail.
In the middle of the plastic assembly there is a release clip that (from memory) you need to prise forward with a screwdriver once youve released the clips (it dislocates with an audible click) . the glass can be raised up from the riser rail and taped to the top of the door clearing the handle mechanism which from memory again you can release by undoing the 2 retaining nuts
hope that helps and hope ive remembered correctly as ive got to do an actuator replacement this weekend myselfMY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car
MY10 HSE D4 auto
MY14 XXV more buttons than the spaceshuttle

Mark thank you I did look at the white window clips and figured they must come off somehow otherwise how would anyone replace the window reg at some point.
I will have another go tomorrow if I get the time.
If you get a chance to take some pics of the glass clips that would be brilliant.

I changed the ignition and door locks recently.
The door lock is just held in with one screw which is easy to get to at the end of the door.
I think it was a torx type head located behind the rubber plug circled in red

Wyn thank you, I did look under that grommet and there was a bar there and thought well thats a useful grommet , but now you have said it I reckon my bar was in fact the edge of the window glass that I was shuffling around!

Well that was fun!
It started with not being able to open the door, which is weird as I tested it a few times before actually shutting it, oh well lock/inlock/pull all the levers at the same time got it open.
Strip whole door down, glass/regulator/door handle/latch and cables etc, amazingly easy when you know how.
Strip door latch down, cant see anything wrong but it wont open from any of the 3 levers, so off to land rovers for a new one, 114 quid later and some fun sticking it all back together and we are in business again.
Im not sure if I damaged the latch assy the other day or its just sheer coincidence, but susepct it was somehting I did.
Can confirm to change the emergencey barrel is as easy as Wyn says above and if I had of done my research I would possibly be 114 pounds better off
