Top rear brake light cluster falling off.
Does anyone on here know how the rear centre brake light should be fixed to the top of the rear door on a 2016 Disco 4. I had the GPS receiver replaced by the dealer when mine was about 10 months old. Last week the light cluster fell off as I was driving on the A1. It's been stuck on temporarily with duck tape and is booked back in with the dealer. It appears to have been stuck back on with a large amount of mastic by the dealer when they replaced the GPS receiver . It looks a mess and I'm not sure if it's right or not. Thanks.

Duck tape eh. Handy if you have a duck that needs sticking down. Perhaps you mean duct tape?
The high level brake light is glued in and usually needs to be broken to remove and replace, then the new one gets glue back in. Had ours replaced by dealer on the MY 2010 one whilst it was under warranty.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Thanks guys. I think I'll still stick with duck tape.

Is that tape for sticking down ducks as Narpy said or it is made from ducks? If so, what part of the duck?
I'd try duct tape until it gave way and then try the GPS repairler again to show the result of using mastic as opposed to the correct adhesive.
But that is just me. Your mileage may vary... LeighW

It’s not a typo.

Sorry OP, I retract all I ever thought about the (mis)use of duck tape.
However, as it is a brand name we should more correctly use an upper case 'D' as in Duck tape. Glad we cleared up that!! Narpy would approve of that too, I imagine.
And from NavyDoc's posted image this product might be suitable as a replacement for Racer tape which is used to temporarily repair vehicle panels that have started to come adrift after an accident, etc. Heck, I've even used some to hold the windscreen cover on the driver's side when some of the clips let go after a birdstrike.
Back on the subject, I'd ask the GPS replacers to have a look at replacing the mastic with a high grade suitable adhesive.LeighW
